WaterSoul — House Rules
Welcome to WaterSoul. To keep this a pleasant place for you and everyone around you, please take a moment to read our rules. They are simple, easy to understand, and exist for one reason only: so that everyone has a good time.
We are open to all species and genders. Whether you walk on two legs or four, and whether you are male, female, shemale or hermaphrodite — you are welcome here. We embrace freedom, so please respect those around you.
Everyone Is Welcome
Human, Furry (anthropomorphic creature / human-animal mix), Neko, Scaly (e.g. Dragon), Elf — and so many more. Don't be afraid to come as you are.
A Few Practicalities
This is not a combat place, so war-robots are excluded — normal robots and androids are welcome. Your avatar should also fit through the door: this place is not made for giants.
What We Do
Our main business is sexual services for payment, chatting and companionship. We're also happy to help with many other topics, so don't be afraid to ask.
The Rule Above All Rules
First and foremost, we follow the Second Life Terms of Service. You have already agreed to them in the past, and you can find them here:
The Rules
Last updates: 2015-07-11 (Sections 1, 5, 8) and 2015-09-12 (Sections 1, 5, 8).
1. No children.
You must be of legal age — 18 years or older — in real life. Your appearance in SL must be mature and adult. Acting as underage, even in non-sexual situations, or offering services of that kind, can and will result in a prompt ban.
2. No (active) weapons, no fighting.
This is a non-combat area. No offensive wearing of weapons. If you really want to wear a weapon, keep it sheathed or holstered. The same rule applies to magic weapons. This is a "no biting" area for vampires: Bloodlines is forbidden here.
3. No spamming or advertising. No poaching. No begging.
We don't allow people to send notices or landmarks about other clubs. If you want to advertise your business, ask the management before trying to spread it in the club. Escorts: only send your notecards to guests who request them. Gestures (sound/chat) are fine and fun in occasional use — do not abuse or spam them. And no begging for money.
4. No foreign Escort-Titles / Groups.
We allow "Freelancers" and "Guest Table-Dancers" (don't forget to read Rule 8 as well). We do not allow Escort-titles from other places. In our guest group we can give you a nice, universal Freelancer title. Escorts who want to become a "full" WaterSoul Escort have to fill out an application — look out for the notecard vendors.
5. Respect and tolerance.
We welcome all species (Human, Furry, Neko, …), all sexes (female, male, hermaphrodite), all sexual orientations (straight, bi-sexual, lesbian, gay) and all lifestyles (Gorean and BDSM, for example).
Respect other people and tolerate their differences. Think about the human behind the avatar and respect them, even if they think differently than you or speak another language. Our workers offer paid sexual services — that does not make them any less valuable as a person than you. If you don't want to pay for sex, our workers will accept that and still hope you enjoy your stay, but please don't beg for free services. No matter what "role" you play — including BDSM, Gor or S&M play — treat others with respect. We expect friendly behavior among co-workers; keep any criticism in IMs. We try to give everyone as much freedom as possible, but please respect the managers and security if they raise an issue.
6. No drama, no griefing.
If you have a personal problem with somebody, keep it outside of this place and keep it private. Everyone is welcome here — you and the person you have a problem with. We will not tolerate anyone disturbing others, whether the trouble is visible, audible or emotional/personal. If you have a complaint about our workers, please contact the staff — and special compliments are, of course, also welcome. (Don't forget to read Rule 5 clearly.)
7. Try to reduce LAG.
Lag is the thing that slows everyone down — including you. Flexible parts, animated textures and lots of scripts all cause it. Please help reduce lag and make the experience better for all: take off anything you don't need at the moment, including unnecessary HUDs or excessive thousand-prim flexi dresses.
Special Rule for Escorts and Dancers
8. No "AFK" or "busy" while dancing.
While on the poles, or with a tip jar on stage, you are not allowed to be "AFK" (away) or "busy" — you are expected to respond and interact in main chat. If you need a short break (under 5 minutes), inform the people around you. For a longer break, leave the stage: take a seat, or stand at the side or the bar. No misuse of rezzing rights (see the clarification section). "Private tip jars" are not allowed. You may also be required to pay back the fees of "long-time" deals (see the clarification section).
Clarifications
The section above is the rulebook. Everything below simply explains the reasoning and the finer details behind each rule.
Clarification 1 — No children.
This area is on Adult-rated land. You must be verified for adult content to be here, and your real-life legal age must be 18 or older. You may encounter explicit pictures, chat and sounds. If your local law does not allow you to access this, or if you don't agree with being exposed to such chats and roleplay, please leave.
Your appearance must be mature/adult. We tolerate smaller avatars — some Furry avatars are only around 160 cm "out of the box" — but we do NOT tolerate age-play or child-play. If you want to appear smaller or as a "Dwarf", we may accept it… or not. We require a clear statement about your maturity in your profile.
We also enforce a stricter dress code for smaller avatars: absolutely no items or clothing that could create a visibly underage appearance — for example diapers, pacifiers, cute shirts like "Hello Kitty"® or similar, or child-like talk. (There are obvious exceptions, such as clearly above-age avatars wearing cute outfits to look cute — but only if they are obviously over legal age without a second thought. If in doubt, ask staff.)
We strongly prefer to see you taller. You may receive automatic warnings that you have to answer, or you will likely be ejected. If someone complains about your size, it would be wise to "grow up" by adjusting taller. If staff ask you to adjust your appearance, treat it as a strict and urgent order. If someone complains about your appearance and files an Abuse Report with Linden Lab, we cannot and will not protect you in any way. Take this as a warning.
Clarification 2 — No (active) weapons, no fighting.
This is a non-combat area and rezzing is mostly off. We would prefer you take your weapons off entirely, but we tolerate you continuing to wear them — sheathed. In that case we only allow small/light weapons, nothing larger or heavier than the avatar. War-robots and similar avatars are not allowed.
It is strictly forbidden to hold a weapon (gun, sword) in your hands — keep them sheathed. If you can't disable or secure them, and you are inexperienced with keeping them sheathed, take them off. The same rules apply to magic weapons ("spells") and to vampires: this is a "no biting" area. For the BDSM and Gorean lifestyles we prefer discreet expression — no offensive hunts and no punishment in the main area.
Clarification 3 — No spamming or foreign advertising. No poaching.
There is little to add beyond the rule itself. You are of course welcome to exchange landmark suggestions about shops and more in conversation.
From guests, we expect no attempts to poach our escorts and staff, and no spreading of landmarks about other clubs and places — that can be misread as poaching. From our escorts and dancers we expect loyalty. We don't force anyone to work exclusively for WaterSoul, but we do expect you to keep it separate.
Don't ask for money unrequested — this applies to workers and guests alike. Escorts naturally charge a fee for their services and dancers appreciate a small, friendly tip; sometimes people forget that the entertainment isn't free, so someone asking for a little tip is fine. What is not fine is heavy asking or begging. Among a group of friends, it's still okay to ask kindly whether you might borrow a few L$ for this or that.
Clarification 4 — No foreign Escort-Titles.
Even though our escort advertising boards are low-priced, we allow "Freelancers" — escorts who aren't members of the "WaterSoul Escort" group and aren't associated with us. We can activate a special title/group tag for you in our free-to-join Guest group; just ask the staff.
We don't tolerate displaying Escort or Dancer titles from other places. If you're unsure about your groups and titles and might forget to switch, it's better to leave the display switched off (you can hide the active group display on your screen). All dancers and people on stage must show their active group, and all actively escorting people must show a group tag, a hovering title, or a similar solution.
We have a business cooperation with "SyrusMax inc" (a porn studio). Its members are allowed to present and advertise their material within limits.
Clarification 5 — Respect and tolerance.
There is little to add beyond the rule. Please remember: this place is for all species, for people of all genders, and for every sexual orientation. If you exist in a permanent roleplay, that's fine with us — but no matter your dominance or role, we expect you to treat others outside of your world with respect. If you're unsure how to act: when in doubt, be friendly. And don't offend others with your roleplay.
Clarification 6 — No drama, no griefing.
There is little to add beyond the rule. If you feel insulted, angry, or simply not in the mood, remember there is always the option to quit the program and switch off your computer.
Clarification 7 — Try to reduce LAG.
Lag is the "slowing down" you feel in SL. It can be caused both on the SL servers and in the viewers/clients. Too many scripts cause server-side lag, so please take off things you don't need. This is a non-combat area: your fight meters aren't needed — take them off. Weapons aren't needed — take them off or swap them for a non-scripted version. If you don't need your genitals at the moment, take them off (don't just make them invisible). Resize scripts in clothing can often be deleted once you've fitted the outfit. The list of "tools" with heavy scripts and little function is sadly long — do you really need that radar? Take off whatever you don't need right now.
Particles also cause lag — mostly viewer-side, but a little server-side too. Smoke (a cigarette, for example), poofing hearts/paws/stars/symbols and gadgets all add up; think about whether you really need them. Even the "blinking" of jewelry is often particles — switch it off. Excessive glow or light causes client-side lag. Sounds can be annoying (see the spamming rule) and cause client-side lag and sometimes crashes — keep it quiet. Flexible parts in hair, clothes and other attachments affect lag as well; on one of "those laggy days", reconsider whether you really want the super-bushy, extra-long hair with the high-detail long skirt and a waving flag in your hand. Please keep in mind that not everyone has the latest computer for SL, so let's keep it simple and not overdo it. It makes the experience richer for all of us.
Clarification 8 — Special rule for Dancers, Escorts and other staff.
To avoid drawing guests' focus away, keep well clear of the stage so the active workers stay in the spotlight. If you hold a special role such as "security", make it invisible so people don't get a false sense of safety.
Group members may be given rezzing rights, which let you create things and unpack items. Do not use the main room or the private rooms as building places — go to the ground or the building level. Be mindful of the prim limit: some toys rez 20+ prims while in use, so keep enough headroom for regular use. Clean up after yourself and pick up everything you placed, unless the management has confirmed a permanent placement.
You are not allowed to rez your own tip jar, no matter what "special functions" it may have. If it does have something unique, you're welcome to pitch the idea to the staff. DJs and similar roles may be excluded from this limitation.
A deal with a client must be fulfilled, or the paid fee — possibly a fair percentage of it — must be paid back. A "deal" is usually for an easily measurable amount of time (e.g. a set price for a set time). For "long-time" deals (a daily offer, a week, a "lifetime"), there must be a clear agreement — a contract — with the client. If a client complaint arises, a payback may be enforced.
Important Note
WaterSoul and its owner(s) are not responsible for the actions, services or debts of any staff, workers or escorts — whether WaterSoul staff or freelancers.
